Light stared at the not-so-fancy ceiling of the fancy hotel room, wondering how on earth he came to be lying nakedly next to his also-naked one-night-stand, who was currently asleep. Anyone else around his age would just shrug it off as being some meaningless fling, but this was different. This was very, very different, for his just-some-meaningless-lay just happened to be the great detective, L, himself.
Light ran one hand into his perfectly-kept, coffee-brown hair and clenched his hand into a fist, face screwing up into a look of frustration. How did this happen?! Not only a guy, but L?! Why why why why why?! WHY?!
Oh, of course he remembered and knew exactly what had happened; he just didnt want to wrap his meticulous mind around the fact that it was all his fault. Yep. Light Yagami, pride and joy of his family and teachers and perfect role model for everyone regardless of age or occupation, had single-handedly caused his complete and total downfall. The really bad part about it was that it had been the most enjoyable time hed ever had.
It all started with Misa sending everyone home so she and Light could have some quality time together. Of course, that excluded Ryuzaki, who was still chained to his favorite suspect. Misa ignored him as usual, cuddling up to Lights other side and cooing sweet stupidity into his ear while he sat there stoically, just letting her do whatever she wanted. Luck would have Misas work phone ring and have her rush away for a romantic moonlight photo shoot for some perfume company. Well, it had seemed like luck at the time. Really, it was a particularly sadistic entity.
Light looked at Ryuzaki. Well, I guess its just you and me for now, he said in his usual polite-casual demeanor.
It would seem this is true, said L, sounding as always like he was analyzing every situation of every situation of every happening. He idly dropped a pink sugar cube into his tea with a slight plunk before sipping it down completely before the cube even had a chance to dissolve completely. He licked his lips a little before setting the cup daintily down and glancing at Light expectedly. Well, since Lights plans have been cancelled and theres no way for us to get back to work, perhaps Light would like to choose some other activity to amuse himself. Watari had courteously taken the three of them to a little out-of-the-way hotel for a bit of privacy and a very tiny one-night vacation of sorts at Misas request (demand), and none of their work materials were with them, so all they had for right then was what the hotel offered.
Well
Light looked around, not quite sure how to respond. He knew that L saw everything as a test, so he had to play it carefully, even though he wasnt Kira. The hotel room was very well made-up, making Light once again wonder at the older detectives avarice. Or was it merely showing off? L often reminded Light of a spoilt child. No, he always reminded Light of a spoilt child. It was probably showing off and greed at the same time.
With this thought in his mind, he let his eyes rest on the mini-bar in the little kitchen-ish area. Light admitted he wasnt above all temptation, especially when it came to strong curiosity (he was a detective, after all) which is why he had no qualms about asking, Ryuzaki, if you dont mind my asking, do you often drink?
Ls shadowy eyes followed Lights intent gaze to the mini-bar before looking right back at him, actually looking a little surprised. No, not particularly. Why do you ask?
I know youll think my motives are less than pure, but I was just wondering what you get like when drunk.
Light, you seem to know how suspicious that is
Hence why I said so. I dont think Kira would use alcohol to get information from someone. It seems like
hed use skillful words.
L glanced back at the mini-bar, seeming to contemplate this. Perhaps youre right. I dont see what harm it would do
if you drank as well, that is.
That seems fair to me.
Oooh, how words can come back to bite oneself in the ass. The mini-bar had quite a lot more inside it than one would guess at first glance. For the next half-hour or so, the two drank the exact same amount since L refused to have any if Light didnt have a shot as well. It started out with just a couple, but then they somehow managed to have more than theyd meant to at the beginning
Light?
Yes?
Did you know that shinigami love applesh? he said, slurring noticeably.
Is that shome kind of a joke? said Light, a tad offended.
Yesh, said L, who somehow still sounded like his usual self, only slurred and
well, drunk. But Light ishnt laughing
Well, no, it washnt funny. Light was slurring as well, though a little bit less than L was. This is a bit important.
After a minute, L said, I wish Light wouldnt hate me
Light definitely wasnt expecting that. Huh?
Itsh quite clear you do. Itsh quite obvioush, Light. You make it sho obvioush. I wish you wouldnt. Its nanishe
I am nishe! Im alwaysh nishe to you! Youre the one whosh not nishe! Light snapped, quite annoyed at being called nanishe. Er, not nice
Yeeeesh, but Light ishnt REALLY being nishe. Hesh jusht being polite, which ish different.
I am too nishe
Youre not nishe. You dont even try to act nishe. Youre jusht
GNN! Light flung his arms up in some odd parody of specific annoyance. L blinked at him.
I believe Light hash had too much to drink.
Something happened then. All that pent-up frustration that had been building up in Light finally burst somehow and he found himself tackling Light to the ground, punching every inch of him he could reach. L, who was a little off his game, didnt quite react fast enough, so was effectively pinned, but not completely helpless. He quickly gathered himself and socked Light right in the jaw, causing him to rear back a bit in reaction, giving L a good opening to push Light back completely and pin him by the shoulders, hips pinning Lights hips as he pressed himself down.
The two froze as they realized that they could feel each just how excited they both were, and there was definitely no way to deny anything at that point. So, they stared at each other.
And then, L leaned down and reacted to his own pent-up feelings. He kissed him, hard and bruising, pressing himself harder into him, feeling their very bones grind together with a painful sort of friction. Light was, of course, shocked first, but eventually the mixture of physical and emotional feeling plus alcohol swirled together in a delightful haze of pleasure and sent him off to a fantastic place hed never before known.
And then he woke up the next morning, naked and sore all over, freaking out quite a bit. This was not good
